WSN tutorial online for limited time

A free four-hour tutorial on “Wireless Sensor Networks” is currently available from the IEEE Communications Society’s Tutorials Now! program.

Presented from a systems and networking perspective, this tutorial starts with a look at potential applications, then covers the major subsystems in a sensor network, ranging from platforms and hardware up to application level support for network-level querying.

Australia Builds Smart Farm With Sensor Networks

Australia is working toward the “Smart Farm” of the future with research focusing on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and their potential to transform the Australian agriculture industry.

Dr. Tim Wark, project leader of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation’s (CSIRO) ICT center, said as water and labor get scarcer and more costly, the viability and sustainability of Australia’s agricultural industry hinges on better utilization of resources.
